Bulgaria gets its first good snow fall
In the early hours of the 10th November, the snow began
falling. Borovets got a really good covering, Pamporovo and Bansko
not quite so good. It is still early days yet, but this good dump
on the Borovets slopes should form a nice base for the pistes.
Let's all hope for a better season than last year !
Want to save some money on ski equipment or clothing?
We have opened a new section on our forum. A lot of us have ski and
snowboard kit or clothing kicking around (especially those of us with
kids), now we can put it to good use. Why throw it out, when we could
make a couple of pounds from it, or at least have the satisfaction
of not throwing a perfectly useful item away.

The all new new Borovets webcam
We at SkiDVD don't rest on our laurels. After commissioning the
new webcam, we decided that although good, it could be improved.
The new webcam is going to be fitted with an infra red illuminator.
This is essentially a floodlight with hundreds of tiny infra red
LED's. It is almost impossible to see with the human eye, in fact
the only way to tell they are on, is a dull glow from them at night.
This will light an area extending out to fifty metres at least,
possibly further. Now we will see the nightlife of Borovets !
The all new Borovets webcam
We finished trialling our new webcam recently, and it is
now in Borovets. The camera will be located on the main street through
Borovets, outside the Chalet Iskar
It is a much higher resolution day/night camera. It has its own
infra red illuminators, and it will be running 24 hours a day. During
darkness hours, we will set the camera to upload when it senses
movement. There is no point in constantly updating the same picture.
This does mean that when it snows, it will be broadcasting all night.
Our new video website
In an effort to get as many video clips as possible, and
to make it easier for you all to share your videos with us, we have
a new website.
www.skivideos.co.uk is
a youtube style website, that you can sign up and upload your videos.
The site accepts just about every different video format known,
making it very easy to share your videos on the internet.
The skidvd forum
We have allowed guest posting on our forum, with the exception of
the Bulgarian banter discussion board. To post in this forum, you
will need to register.
